When I’m making smoothies on a weekday I tend to add more liquid so they’re easier to drink up through a bottle on the go. However if I am afforded the luxury of taking my time with breakfast, the thicker the better I say.
There’s something more special and decadent about taking your time eating a thick smoothie bowl with a few crunchy toppings than chugging back a smoothie drink in a rush.
My current favourite base for smoothie bowls is frozen blueberries, under-ripe banana (I do love a green banana) and lots and lots of fresh spinach!
Pum’s Simple Sunday Smoothie Bowl
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 banana
- 1 cup fresh spinach
- 1/2 cup frozen mango
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 tbsp. almond butter
- 1 tbsp. mixed nuts/seeds/dried fruit for topping
- 1 tbsp. flaxmeal for topping
- Combine all the smoothie ingredients in a blender and whizz up until super smooth.
- Add to a bowl and sprinkle on topping ingredients.
- Tuck in with a spoon.
Happy Sunday folks!
